A Dog's Heart

"A Dog's Heart" is one of the most famous and memorable works of Mikhail Bulgakov. With his unique sarcasm and humor, Bulgakov describes the unprecedented risky experiment of Professor Preobrazhensky to transform a dog into a human, creating a magnificent parody of the paradoxical situation in Soviet Russia of the 1930s. The cruel experiment to breed a new "species" of humans shows that one cannot experiment with nature and alter Divine Providence without facing consequences for political ends. The offspring of such experiments can destroy their creators. The collection also includes other satirical works: "The Diaboliad" and "Fatal Eggs".
