The Prince-Romantic

July 1467. The sunset of the chivalric era. Amidst the grandeur and intrigues of the Burgundian court, Count Antonie of Geldern, cousin and comrade of the young Charles the Bold, felt even more alien and foreign to this world. He increasingly found himself ‘providing a tricky answer and not finding the necessary question.’ But one day, a trivial event (a brawl at the inn) turned his entire life upside down. And (what absurdity?) life suddenly acquired meaning. In the next volume of 'Masters of Adventures' comes the novel by Rafael Sabatini 'The Prince-Romantic.' This book is quite unusual for this author, lyrical and harsh, full of wanderings and wanderings, and even more – trials. Echoes of Shakespeare ('Hamlet,' 'Richard III,' 'King Lear'), Dumas ('The Countess de Monsoreau'), and perhaps even Dostoevsky ('The Idiot') can be heard in it. Sabatini clearly read something from this. It is published in Russian for the first time.
