-"Mara and Morok", author Lia Arden.
Two hundred years ago, unusual sisters had a lofty goal — fighting monsters. In those times, people from villages and hamlets, large cities and tall castles respected and trembled before them, asking for protection and compassion. People brought them gifts. But all this ended when Prince Seratsky intended to cleanse the world of these sisters forever.
The main character, whose sisters were harmed, attempted to take revenge on him but was defeated and perished. And so came the moment when the rulers of the Araken kingdom, who were mired in a protracted confrontation with Serat and the ruler of the neighboring country, decided to revive her to help gain victory in this endless war, which became yet another attempt to take vengeance on the hated oppressor and regain freedom. But it is not so simple — now she is forever bound to the one who must ensure that the agreement is not violated.
Thus, she became Mara, which means the one touched by the Goddess of Death, Morana herself. And the observer — Morok, and everyone trembles before such as he!
-A notebook with characters from the popular series "Death and Shadow" by Lia Arden.
