The continuation of the incredible fantasy novel by Russian writer Sophie Anri – the story of the kingdom of Arden and its Keeper, Randall, as well as Princess Aurora, a proud northerner. Court intrigues, love and hatred, wars, skeletons in the closet, family secrets, and eerie rituals.
A year has passed since Randall and Aurora cemented their union with an ancient ritual, and their souls became one. But war approaches, and Randall, bidding farewell to his wife, departs for the Eastern Kingdom. The ship meets with disaster. Heartbroken Aurora mourns her husband, but in Arden, she must be strong to protect their son – the last descendant of the Corwin line – from the web of court intrigues, and the only thing that helps her not to break is a ring, whose light holds hope.
In this new volume, you will learn more about Randall's bodyguard, Zachariah, and the Order of Shadows, which keeps dark secrets. A magical world awaits you, where wealth and the power of pure blood reign, ancient magic lingers in the air, and love can either save the heroes or doom them.
The Southern Kingdom can be compared to France in the era of Louis XIV, and the Northern Kingdom – to Scandinavia or medieval Scotland. The atmosphere of an alternative Renaissance era will delight you!
