In an era when literature literally "takes away its voice" in attempts to outshout the screams, shrieks, and blasts of the information field; when writers strive at all costs to capture the reader's attention with shocking and even chilling plots; in an age of widespread fakes, lost trust in one another, and forgetting ourselves… – Dina Rubina writes a book full of piercing silence and pain. She writes stories about family, seemingly intentionally lowering her voice to a whisper, to a spasm in the throat, – forcing the reader to look deep within themselves, into their own childhood, into the images of their first beloved relatives in the world… "Childhood is not subject to depreciation…" – asserts the author of this book. Dina Rubina persistently reaches out to the heart of the reader, breaking through to it with every word, every intonation, inexpressible bitter irony and merciless truth of feelings. "Don't strike me off the list…" - a collection of family stories that includes both familiar works as well as new tales and stories.
