Mort Sinder. Graphic Novel

A sample of the horror comic genre, the best Argentine comic, which became a classic of the 1960s. A horror story with a political subtext.
Alberto Breccia and Hector German Osterheld are cult figures of the golden age of Argentine comics. Their duo produced the best examples of the genre: The Eternaut 1969 (winner of the Eisner Award), Sherlock Time, "Mort Sinder", Vida del Che, which are considered masterpieces of graphic novels worldwide.
Alberto Breccia, also known for his illustrations for Edgar Allan Poe, Lovecraft, Borges, and Garcia Marquez, was inducted into the Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2021.
Hector Osterheld worked with Hugo Pratt (Sargento Kirk, Ticonderoga, Ernie Pike). In his scripts, Osterheld infused a scathing critique of the Argentine military dictatorship. He was repressed and disappeared for opposing the authorities.
The main character of the graphic novel is the mysterious Mort Sinder, an immortal time traveler. Together with him, readers journey into the past to witness the construction of the Tower of Babel from the front row, immerse themselves in the life of an American prison during the Great Depression, visit the trenches of World War I, board a slave ship, and even participate in the legendary Battle of Thermopylae.
Masterfully working with light and shadow, Alberto Breccia creates atmospheric expressive images that easily transport the reader to gloomy cemeteries, ancient Egyptian tombs, and the treacherous waters of the Atlantic.
