Night in the train on the silver river

"Suddenly, a strange voice was heard, announcing: 'Station "Silver River", Station "Silver River"', it became bright before his eyes, as if myriads of phosphorescent cuttlefish had turned to stone and ascended into the sky, or someone had scattered diamonds in the sky that a diamond mining company had hidden to keep the price of the product from falling. Giovanni involuntarily rubbed his eyes. It suddenly dawned on him that he had been riding on a small train for several minutes, its wheels tapping — 'goto-goto-goto-goto'. And indeed, he was sitting in the car of a night train speeding along a narrow gauge, looking out the window."
