Impressionism — the painting of impression, a moment captured from the monotony of everyday life. Although this movement emerged in Paris in the second half of the 19th century, it still evokes heightened public interest today. The remarkable connoisseur of French culture M. Yu. German, Doctor of Arts, presented in his book his own, deeply thought-out and emotional version of the history of Impressionism, told about the path of great masters (Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir and many others), as well as how French influence echoed in the art of other countries, including — Russia.
