The Lady with the Dog

Readers are offered a collection of stories and novellas by A. P. Chekhov. The edition includes precious gems of his creativity — «The Lady with the Dog», «The Jumping Frog», «Ward No. 6», «The House with a Mezzanine», «The Man in a Case», «The Gooseberry». Even the titles of many of A. P. Chekhov's works have long become metaphors and winged expressions. They contain not only the bright sadness of loneliness and regret for unfulfilled love but also hope. Will Chekhov's heroes be able to «see the sky in diamonds» and arrange their lives so that truth, dignity, and happiness are established at the foundation of their existence?

The English translation of the novellas from Russian by Constance Garnett is accompanied by page-by-page comments. The book is intended for students of language universities and all lovers of Russian classical literature.
