Crystal Cities

Maxim finds himself at his aunt's house in St. Petersburg, having survived the bombings and destruction of Mariupol. One day, from the window of his hospital room, he sees a strange girl in the house across the street, who is sticking a note to the glass: «Pitiful loser». Why? What happened? They aren't even acquaintances! Ironically, Nastya turns out to be his classmate…

First love – from the first glance, words, movements towards each other before Maxim's departure to the reviving Mariupol – that is what interests the author of this story. For middle and high school age.
