Kizhi. A Fairy Tale Island

Kizhi is an open-air museum. It is a small island where wooden structures brought from different parts of the north of our country are gathered. Ancient mills still turn their blades-wings today. Skilled craftsmen carve intricate window frames for wooden windows with axes. Wooden churches reach up with their dome-tips. On this marvelous island, not only people live, but also fairy tales.
