Seven troubles and the snake's covenant. Book 1

Inzhu knows exactly how her life will unfold: she will become a shaman and marry her childhood friend Aidar. It can't be any other way. However, fate has different plans for her. On the Day of Initiation, instead of her, the Spirit blesses Aidar — which is unheard of, as only women become shamans. She not only loses her powers and her friend, but is now considered cursed. After being bitten by a white snake, she starts to develop scales. Inzhu decides to cross the entire Kazakh Khanate to climb the highest mountain — to ask the Spirits for answers and mercy. Her path is blocked by the Great Steppe, ruthless evil spirits, and the fear of what she is becoming. Will she be able to return home as she was, or will she forever become something else?
