Detailed commentaries by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, a representative of the Vedic tradition, provide modern individuals access to the secrets of centuries-old wisdom. For a wide readership. Wars, hunger, national strife, and economic crises...Sri Isopanisad asserts that the root cause of all these problems lies in the refusal of society's leaders to acknowledge the existence of the Supreme Personality who owns and governs everything. Written thousands of years ago in Sanskrit, Sri Isopanisad provides us with the key to understanding the nature of the supreme mind that governs the universe. Vedic knowledge is infallible because it descends in an unbroken chain of perfect disciple succession of spiritual teachers, which begins with the Lord Himself. And since the first word of Vedic knowledge was spoken by the Lord, the source of this knowledge is transcendental. The words spoken by the Lord are called apauruseya. This means that they originate from a personality who does not belong to the material world.

At the dawn of creation, Vedic knowledge was initially instilled by the Lord in the heart of Brahma—the first created living being, and Brahma in turn passed this knowledge to his sons and disciples, who continue to spread it to this day.
