Collected Works. Volume 9. 2016-2019, Joyful Life, or Sex in the USSR

In his novel with the provocative title «Joyful Life, or Sex in the USSR», Yuri Polyakov transports us to the year 1983.

The author masterfully recreates a long-gone world with sly nostalgia.

As always, the reader is in for a virtuoso twist of a plot, in which grand politics, nomenclature games, intrigues of the creative environment, and risky romantic adventures intertwine.

«Chronicle of those years» is written vividly and wittily, and the language is characterized by imagery and aphorisms.

One critic aptly called Polyakov's new novel «The Decameron of the Era of Stagnation».
