Satellites

Vera Panova's prose is amazing and multifaceted. In the characters of her books, whether it is «Seryozha» or «Satellites», «Clear Shore» or «Kruzhilakha», readers easily recognize themselves, their loved ones and friends. They empathize with these characters and believe in them.

In «Satellites», Vera Panova tells the story of the feats of military doctors who, during the Great Patriotic War, evacuated the wounded from the front to rear hospitals. To write this book, she participated for two months in the missions of the ambulance train to the battlefields and saw with her own eyes how important is the work of those who save soldiers' lives.

Through the personal stories of her characters, Vera Panova paints a vast canvas of real human destinies. Each of her characters has their own principles, their own sorrows and joys, but it is here and now that they are companions on the roads of war.
