«The Sailor Whom the Sea Fell Out of Love With» is one of the most passionate and emotionally rich novels by the star of 20th-century Japanese literature, Yukio Mishima. This small yet profound and symbolic work reflects the turning point in the worldview of the great writer, returned from a round-the-world trip, and fills his creativity with new meanings. Youthful idealism, philosophy, tragedy of human relationships, turbulent emotions, love and cruelty, swift events, and an unexpected ending - this small but deep metaphorical work vividly represents the moods of post-war Japan, described in Mishima's unique lyrical style. An elegant edition of a small format in a hardcover, thematically echoing another novel by the author - «The Sound of Waves», also released in this series, will make an excellent gift for all connoisseurs of world and Japanese classical literature.
