Nelsky Tower

Another volume of the illustrated collection of works by Alexandre Dumas includes several more masterpieces of short form that hold the reader's attention from the first to the last line.
The gripping story "Night in Florence" tells the tale of a new Hamlet in the late Renaissance. The jewel of cloak and sword -- the play "Nelsky Tower" -- offers an alternative interpretation of a dreadful medieval legend, surpassing the fame of Druon's and Michel Zevaco's novels on the same subject. Another gem of the genre -- the play "The Court of Henry III" -- enters into fierce competition with the history of "The Countess de Monsoreau"! The witty comedy "The Youth of Louis XIV" elegantly and effortlessly changes the interpretation of some events from the novels about the Musketeers. And finally, "Antony" -- the most personal and scandalous play by Dumas, whose production caused a real sensation in the 19th-century theater. The audience literally tore their gloves apart from applause. "Antony" was performed one hundred thirty times in a row, which was almost unheard of at that time.
