Defender. Volume 1

«Will I become like a daughter-in-law when I get married? Does my future fate really depend on the gender of the future child?»
Observing how the desire of a daughter-in-law to give birth to a son turns into obsession, and listening to neighbors' advice about marrying as soon as possible, a young girl named Du Jie wished to break free.
One day, on the riverbank, locals discovered the corpse of a woman, and Jie met a mysterious witch who performed an unusual ritual over the deceased. This encounter initiated a chain of mysterious and frightening events, but at the same time instilled hope in Du Jie – perhaps her destiny lies not in family life, but in protecting those who cannot stand up for themselves?
The plot is based on one of the three most important legends of Tainan city – the comic will be an excellent immersion into the unusual mythology of Taiwan.
