The Picture of Dorian Gray

This book was attempted to be banned: after its publication in 1890, the novel «The Picture of Dorian Gray» caused a real scandal in society and subsequently became the most successful work of Oscar Wilde. Over more than a century, it has been adapted in various countries around the world, but numerous interpretations and productions have not diminished readers' interest in the original. To this day, the name of the main character is familiar to everyone — Dorian Gray, a man who took advantage of the temptation to indulge in any vice without punishment while preserving beauty and youth. Years passed, but his thoughtless, and then cruel actions, hedonism, selfishness, and immorality only etched wrinkles on the face of the canvas. You probably know that this did not make the hero happy. The novel, recognized as a masterpiece of world literature, will allow you to trace step by step the path from carefree fun to hopeless tragedy.
