Tessa Templeton has just completed a brilliant dissertation on Ovid's poem "Metamorphoses" under the watchful guidance of her colleague and mentor, Professor of Ancient Literature Christopher Ecles.

But strangely, her attempts to find a job are failing.

A mysterious letter will open Tessa's eyes to who is sabotaging her further career and how the twists and turns of her life intertwine with the plot of "Metamorphoses"...

Every book you read becomes a part of your life. Sometimes even too literally.

Following Daphne, fleeing from Apollo, you become covered in bark and leaves — envy, betrayal, deals with your own conscience.

All of this is justified, for it is done in the name of love. Love will compel you to dig up the grave of an ancient poet to uncover the mystery of his lame iambs.

Love will lead you to commit a foul deed because Apollo can do anything.

Love will guide you along its thorny path, bringing you back to the ancient myth at every turn, for it is not just eternal — it has entered your life and will either save you or destroy you.

Especially if you are a latinist. Or a latinist woman.
