Post Office

Charles Bukowski is one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century, author of more than forty books, including novels, poetry, essays, and short stories. Despite sometimes shocking naturalism, his texts are full of lyricism, even a peculiar sentimentality. He wrote his first novel "Post Office," dedicated to his work in the mentioned establishment and numerous tragicomic escapades from the life of a simple Californian mailman, at the age of 50. It took twenty nights, twenty pints of whiskey, thirty-five packs of beer, and eighty cigars.
