White Fur Coat

The collection includes six stories by the remarkable writer Elena Nikolaevna Vereiskaya. Sincere and touching, they will interest both big and small readers. The heroes of these stories are kids whose childhood fell during the harsh war and the meager post-war times. But children are children at any time, and in their kind little world, there is always room for love, friendship, participation, exciting games, and the unstoppable flight of imagination. Alongside them are wise and sensitive adults, always ready to help the kids. The wonderfully vivid and dynamic graphic illustrations by Nina Noskovich vividly reveal the character and feelings of the big and small heroes of the book and their friends — the mischievous little squirrel Kolobok and the devoted dog Karai.
