Son of the Regiment

Valentin Petrovich Katayev, a Russian writer and playwright, went through the Great Patriotic War and knew firsthand the sorrow it brought to our country, depriving thousands of boys of their childhood. In 1944, Katayev wrote the book «Son of the Regiment» – a vivid, truthful tale of the difficult fate of Vanya Solntsev, who lost his family during the war. Finding himself in an artillery regiment, this fearless young man fought alongside adult soldiers, proving that a feat is not only courage and heroism, but also great labor, unyielding will, and immense love for the Motherland.
