The Kevlar Age

«The Kevlar Age» — this is how the outstanding Russian poet Anna Revyakina called it — by analogy with the golden and silver ages of poetry — a huge poetic rise, even an explosion, that Russian literature is experiencing today. This definition quickly takes root, as it accurately reflects the essence of our time. Kevlar — a very light and strong material from which bulletproof vests, helmets, and other devices capable of protecting the body from bullets and shrapnel are made. In poetry, Kevlar preserves the soul and conscience, preventing them from crumbling, from changing themselves. Poetic Kevlar protects the great Russian language.
