The Future of Truth

What will happen to truth in the era of fakes, information wars, and artificial intelligence? In search of answers to this pressing question, Werner Herzog embarks on a whimsical journey through the paths of world history: from Emperor Nero to Elon Musk, from Pharaoh Ramses II to tales of alien abduction, from the operas of Giuseppe Verdi to ChatGPT. Have we truly entered the era of post-truth, where it is impossible to separate truth from lies? What makes us believe in con artists, magicians, and poets? What is the truth of art that blurs the boundaries between imagination and reality? "The Future of Truth" is a perceptive analysis of the contemporary era and a creative manifesto of the greatest storyteller in the history of documentary filmmaking.
