Autumn of a Woman

Paris at the end of the 19th century. A wealthy married woman meets a young man and falls in love with him, and he reciprocates her feelings. It seems like a trivial plot, but there is one "but" - the heroine is almost forty years old. This is her first true love, but does she have the right to it? At such an "esteemed" age. At that time, it was believed that for a forty-year-old woman to fall in love was too late, indecent, and ridiculous. Even now, in the 21st century, serious discussions can be found about whether love exists after forty years.
The personal life of a woman who is almost forty years old - this is the theme of one of the most famous novels by the French classic Eugène Marcel Prévost, who dedicated his work to describing the everyday life and critiquing the life of the French bohemian society of his time.
