The Headstrong Lady

Miss Carolina Holbrook, the granddaughter of a marquis, is a girl who does not tolerate pressure and outdated prejudices. A life constrained by the framework of social propriety seems unbearably dull to her, and the prospect of a respectable marriage of convenience does not excite her at all. Carolina's aunt does not lose hope of turning her niece into a society lady and invites her to London, where the ball season is just opening. Carolina's appearance creates a real sensation in society. Her cheerful disposition, sincerity, and provincial naivety attract the attention of Sir Frederick Rathbone, one of the most sought-after bachelors in London. Meeting him changes Carolina's life, filling it with new meaning. But will she be happy next to this man?
