The Dawns Here Are Quiet...

The novella by B. Vasilyev "The Dawn Here Is Quiet..." is based on real events and is one of the most poignant and tragic works about the Great Patriotic War. War makes no distinctions. Age, gender, nationality - all are united and equal in the face of a common disaster. Five ordinary female anti-aircraft gunners with different fates and characters, along with a male sergeant, clearly aware that they are heading to death, engage in an unequal battle with a squad of German saboteurs and tragically perish, trying in any way to hinder the enemy and delay him. The heroes of the novella accomplish a true feat, but it doesn't even make it into the reports of military events. Thousands of similar feats, which, to our great regret, were forgotten, led to the long-awaited victory in this terrible war. The novella is written in memory of those who gave their lives defending the Motherland.
The work is included in the school program for extracurricular reading and is aimed at middle and high school students.
