«Discovering Buddha» — is a philosophical game and the perfect gift for any seeker of wisdom. It is also a wonderful creative tool for daily meditations, self-discovery, and personal transformation. These cards will help you pay more attention and be more mindful of your mind, body, and feelings every day. These are not fortune-telling cards — they are not intended for predicting the future or even for interpreting what is happening here and now. Rather, they serve as a reminder that each of us carries within us the potential for awakening, the possibility of becoming a Buddha, and that is what gives meaning to our lives.
52 cards in this deck — are a kind of meditation guide. Each card contains an image and a sutra (a brief saying) of Buddha with a modern commentary by Osho, which explains its meaning in a language understandable to us and connects it to our own reality. The main themes of the sutras and commentaries are peace, compassion, and love — all true human values and their adaptation to our everyday lives in the modern world.
The «Discovering Buddha» cards provide a beautiful opportunity to look within and reveal your hidden potentials. The deck consists of fifty-three cards: fifty-two of them are numbered and meant for each week of the year, while the last one is unnumbered — it tells the meaning of the word «Sammāsati», as stated by Gautama Buddha, and explains how to awaken your «self» and allow it to manifest. Working with the cards is very simple. Choose one card at the beginning of each week, keep it with you, and refer to it multiple times throughout the day. By the end of the week, the text of the card will begin to penetrate your heart, and you will discover deeper layers of meaning in the words spoken by Buddha. Gradually, week by week, you will feel how your days become filled with deep relaxation and acceptance. You can refer to the fifty-third card at any time — it is the most significant of all the cards to which any other card ultimately points.
Osho's cards help contemplate the present through the lens of the Buddha's worldview. Each card is dedicated to a specific problem that hinders awakening the sleeping Buddha within you. How to love what you hate? Why can't you get rid of intrusive thoughts? How to go beyond good and bad? When should you be a spectator of life, and when a participant? How to learn to see your own mistakes? It turns out there are simple answers to all these complex questions that will allow you to see new facets of events and open new horizons.
These cards are a wonderful gift for anyone striving to become more conscious. They will be useful for those who want to understand themselves, find answers to long-standing questions, or seek support when faced with a difficult choice. No matter what life situation you find yourself in, these cards will surely give you wise and correct advice. Osho easily «pulls out» the problem into the light and suggests how to get rid of it once and for all.
Many philosophers and scholars have taken the liberty to comment on the sayings of Gautama Buddha, but Osho does this so simply and clearly that the wisdom of the ancient mystic finally becomes accessible to every seeker. The uniqueness and value of this edition lie in the fact that it is made in the form of cards. Thanks to this format of information presentation, the wise advice of Buddha can be easily applied to everyday life and most effectively used when seeking answers to pressing questions.
