Evidence-based magic. Limits of perception of mental phenomena

“All true magic must be demonstrative, that is, based on compelling arguments and facts. The difference between evidential magic and fairy-tale magic is the systematic conduct of extrasensory experiments, accompanied by reports with a description and sometimes a deep analysis of a particular mental phenomenon that has become the subject of study.” In this book you will find not only stories about various kinds of experiments on the transfer of thoughts and contemplation of crystals, but also descriptions of many magical operations, rites and rituals from different cultures and eras. Northcote Whitridge Thomas (1868-1936), British anthropologist and researcher of the human mind, as a member of the Society for Psychical Research, studied the occult extensively and enthusiastically. On the topic of psychic phenomena, he authored two works, on telepathy and scrying, which we bring to the attention of our readers.
