The Blockade Book

The truth about the war is ruthless. Such a truth was shown in their "Blockade Book" by Ales Adamovich and Daniil Granin, both participants of the Great Patriotic War.
"The Blockade Book" is based on the diaries and memories of witnesses of the "Leningrad apocalypse". The authors met with ordinary Leningraders who survived the blockade, as well as with people whose decisions mattered. Thus, the first people's book about the blockade was born. At the time, the release of this book was delayed by censorship – the blockade truth turned out to be too inconvenient.
After the book was published, a flood of letters poured in to its authors: readers thanked Adamovich and Granin for the first, true book about the blockade. This book, which represents a vivid testimony of the time, should be read by everyone.
