More than ten years ago, Jonathan and Mina Harker defeated Count Dracula in Transylvania and returned to England to live a normal life. But in a world of bloody enmity and prejudice, even the dead enemies have a long memory. A reunion of old friends turns into a sudden tragedy, a fearless naturalist brings a bat of a new breed from the continent to England, and two English gentlemen who accidentally meet in the depths of Eastern Europe seem to inadvertently awaken an ancient evil - and already darkness creeps over the British archipelago. And in the strange malaise of the young bride of Lord Godalming, Mina Harker sees something frighteningly familiar... “A masterpiece of modern gothic. The story is so captivating as if it were written by Bram Stoker himself” (Risingshadow).
