Kherluf Bidstrup. Drawings. Comics. Graphics

Drawings by Kherluf Bidstrup are retro at the peak of relevance. On the one hand, his work carries the charm of the last century — it’s the fashion of the 50s to 70s, pedigree cars, loud newspaper vendors, model housewives, and bathers in striped costumes. On the other hand, the characters are timeless, and the plots are so familiar that you enthusiastically affirm the truth of each, as if saying: ‘Yes, that’s really how it is!’ A book with Bidstrup’s funny, biting, and surprisingly precise drawings is an inexhaustible source of great mood and positivity, it’s psychology in pictures, it’s an opportunity to smile while observing the lives of little people in whom we recognize ourselves.
