Kyukhlya

"Kyukhlya" is the first novel by Yuri Tynyanov, a prominent literary critic and writer. The work emerged largely thanks to K.I. Chukovsky, who persuaded Tynyanov to write a historical novel. About whom? About Wilhelm Karlovich Küchelbekker - a small brave boy, an ambitious poet, a "misanthrope" and a romantic, a participant in the Decembrist uprising, a fugitive, and later a convict in exile. Through the pen of Yuri Tynyanov, Küchelbekker is brought out of the shadow of "Pushkin's friend" and "the prototype of Chatsky". The reader empathizes with a living person with his fears, attachments, and hopes, immersing themselves in the unparalleled Golden Age of Russian literature, drinking with young Chaadaev, traveling with Griboedov, fighting for honor and defending the homeland.
