Eighteen-year-old Debbie White lives on a farm with her mother Maeve and her uncle, Billy. Her mother spends her days meticulously recording her dreams, which she believes to be prophetic. The uncle lives in a trailer without wheels, resting on concrete blocks in the garden behind the house, and often turns to the bottle...
From this familiar world, Debbie is about to move to a world that is its absolute opposite - she is admitted to Trinity College Dublin, the most prestigious university in Europe.
How will the naive and sincere Debbie fare in a world where people like her are either unnoticed or bullied? How will she accept it? And will she accept it?
