Olga Fedorovna Berggolts 1910 – 1975 – writer, poet, journalist, playwright. During the Great Patriotic War, Olga Berggolts remained in besieged Leningrad. From August 1941, she worked on the radio, almost daily addressing the residents of the blockaded city. Each radio address by Berggolts ended with her poems. And her poems helped the Leningraders survive in the frozen blockaded city and not lose their human dignity. Olga Berggolts's voice was rightly called a symbol of victory, and the poetess herself – the muse of besieged Leningrad. The collection includes poems and excerpts from radio addresses to the Leningraders.
