The Flowers of Evil

Charles Baudelaire — a classic of French and world literature, the first decadent and symbolist who defined the paths of European poetry for many years to come. The main works of Charles Baudelaire included in this collection — «The Flowers of Evil», «Paris Spleen» and separate poems not included in the cycles — form a unique poetic world. It is here that the dirt of everyday life and the melancholy of mundane existence are astonishingly transformed into the highest purity of the gold of poetry. They also embody three different facets of the author's worldview: the mythology of poetry and life, the philosophy of despair.
