Janusz Korczak 1878–1942 — Polish doctor, educator, writer. He wrote two stories about a boy-king shortly after World War I, the echoes of which are distinctly heard in the military scenes of the works. Matt becomes king at 10 years old, and no one is willing to help him in his untimely and overwhelming task. But Matt learns quickly, and an interesting thought comes to his mind: children also deserve fair treatment and freedom. Not everything went as Matt had planned, but many of his ideas became fundamental in humanitarian pedagogy in the 21st century. For middle school age.
