The next volume of the illustrated collected works of Alexandre Dumas includes yet another thrilling tale about the manners of the inhabitants of the country in the «toe of the Italian boot» — «Calabrian Bandits». Following it is an equally captivating story from the time of the Great French Revolution — «The Red Rose», written vividly and dynamically, with absolute immersion in the era. It even features General Dumas himself, the father of the writer. The intense passion slightly subsides in the novel «Parisians and Provincials». However, despite a considerable dose of lively humor, it also has its share of intrigues and unexpected plot twists (Dumas is Dumas). Part of the events of this remarkable story takes place in the vicinity of the town of Veller-Cotret, where the author of «The Three Musketeers» spent his youth.
