The History of Flight. From Icarus' Wings to Space Rockets

For millennia, the sky has beckoned humanity without exaggeration. In the legends and tales of all peoples, flying heroes lived. The sky was traversed by Baba Yaga in her mortar and the Dragon Gorynych, the winged Pegasus soared high, and the first transport aviation — the magic carpet — carried passengers. Humanity has always wanted to fly. Flight — it is speed, it is freedom, it is delight! Time passed, and finally, the dream came true. After many unsuccessful and tragic attempts and experiments, humanity mastered the air element, although this path was difficult and thorny. In our book, we will tell the story of flight from the first flight of a hot air balloon to modern supersonic aircraft and spacecraft.
