The last quarter of the 17th century. The sick Tsar Fyodor Alexeevich ascends to the Russian throne. It is clear to everyone that he will not live long, so the boyars are already fitting the royal crown on other candidates. His sister Fyodor - Tsarevna Sophia - tries it on for herself. Why shouldn't she be a tsarina? After all, there was a glorious princess Olga in Russia. And Elena Glinskaya, the mother of Ivan the Terrible, had great power in her time. What makes Sophia worse? She has a direct path to the throne, but standing in her way is her younger brother - Petrusha, the son of Sophia's stepmother, Natalia Naryshkina. Petrusha is not sick at all. One cannot hope that he will die soon. Because of this boy, all of Sophia's dreams of power are collapsing! That is why Sophia does not consider him her brother, calls him Naryshkin's offspring, and wishes to get rid of him.
