Our flowers – what are they like? Thriving beautifully in gardens and parks, crowding city flowerbeds or receiving care in summer cottages? Yes and no! This book will talk about special flowers: sometimes unnoticed, but full of rare beauty and charm. All of them are our closest neighbors: the modest violet and the festive dandelion, the strong willowherb and the delicate forget-me-nots, the glorious snapdragon, the curly mouse pea, the prickly burdock, and many others, amazing and extraordinary. The kind, bright, light, and precise lines of poems by Ekaterina Serova will introduce little ones to the vast world of flowers in their native region – those that can be found in the forest, in the meadow, and even on the lawn near the house, and will teach them to notice and pay attention. The Leningrad poetess Ekaterina Serova is a classic of Russian children's literature, and the collection of poems "Our Flowers" had incredible reader success after its first publication and received the highest praise from such masters as Vitaly Bianki and Valentin Berestov. The current edition is accompanied by illustrations by Stefania Yankovskaya, who skillfully and in detail conveyed the colors and moods of the amazing world of our flowers.
